The story of a passionate pianist & composer
Hello, my name is Andrew Gerard. I am a composer and pianist based in Pondicherry, India. Andrew’s Piano is the name inspired by my YouTube channel, which has grown into a central hub for my blog and social media presence.
From an early age, I was deeply captivated by the beauty of music, particularly the piano. I’ve always felt a profound connection to the instrument, as if the piano keys were an extension of my fingers. This deep-rooted passion transformed into a lifelong journey of self-expression and discovery through music.
Over the years, my dedication to music evolved into a commitment to share my experiences, knowledge, and performances with fellow musicians and enthusiasts. Driven by a desire to inspire, I started this blog as a platform to share the musical insights and expertise I’ve accumulated.
Here, I delve into topics ranging from music theory to piano-specific techniques, exploring scales, modes, chords, and songs across various genres. My goal is to ensure there’s something for every music lover, making this space an inclusive haven for creativity and learning.
A Little Of my Background
Born & Background
I was born in 1989 in Pondicherry, a vibrant cultural hub known for its creativity and the influence of Auroville, an international community. As a single child, my love for music emerged at the age of six, when I began playing songs on a small Casio keyboard gifted by a family friend—without any formal instruction. Recognizing my talent, my parents enrolled me in music lessons, but I soon realized that my self-taught approach allowed me to explore music more freely and creatively.
While I graduated with a degree in Commerce and pursued a career in French-based roles for six years, music always remained at the core of my identity. Even during my professional tenure, I participated in music programs and composed whenever I had the chance.
Eventually, my passion for music and entrepreneurship led me to fully dedicate myself to Andrew’s Piano and other online ventures. Today, I strive to create captivating performances and share my knowledge, hoping to inspire others to embrace the joy and beauty of music.
